A marketplace is easy to build. A marketplace a farmer has reason to trust is harder, and that is the part we spend our time on.
Indian agriculture does not lack buyers or produce. It lacks a place where the two can agree terms in advance and both be held to them. Krishi Setu exists to be that place, and to make the government minimum price the starting point of every negotiation rather than a figure nobody checks.
A price check written into a screen can be bypassed by any other screen, any script, or any future change made in a hurry. So the MSP floor is not written into a screen. It is a constraint inside the database: a contract or bid below the floor is rejected at the moment it is written, whatever asked for it. A guarantee that depends on everyone remembering it is not a guarantee.
Every rate in the system stores the Press Information Bureau release it was taken from. A crop that the government notifies but for which we have no verified rate is shown as exactly that — not silently treated as having no floor. Telling a farmer "no MSP" when the truth is "we have not verified it yet" is the kind of small dishonesty that costs a platform its credibility.
Credibility
The MSP guarantee is the centre of this product, so it is built to be checked rather than trusted. Every rate in the system names the government release it came from.
